About Control Plan

A control plan is a summary of what is controlled at each step of the process, how it is controlled, and what actions are to be taken in case of an unexpected or out-of-control condition. In non-production areas the concept of the control plan is also referred to as PDCP (program decision process chart)

The control plan documents how a process is currently being monitored. It provides a basis a process can be audited against.

How to insert the Control Plan component

The Control Plan template can be used to start new projects or to extend existing projects. Please read chapter "The Templates" to learn more about how to start new projects.

In order to extend your project:

    Activate the Insert Ribbon Insert Ribbon
  2. 2
    Click the Add Tool button on the Insert ribbon
  3. 3
    Click the Control Plan icon in the template catalog

The Control Plan component is located in this cycle/phase combinations:

  • SIX SIGMA DMAIC: CONTROL
  • LEAN SIX SIGMA DMAIC: CONTROL
  • DFSS DMADV: VERIFY
  • DFSS IDOV: VERIFY

Activate the right cycle by clicking its item at the blue left section of the template catalog. Then scroll the window to the right phase in order to find the module Control Plan.
