Matrix of Design Elememts (factors) over Functional Requirements (responses). Use for knowledge management, DOE planning.

The Component Design Matrix component collects information about the effects of design parameters and noise factors on the functional requirements.

    CTQs
    This is the list of CTQs. It is a subset of the Functional Requirements list, showing only the parameter level.
  2. 2
    Importance
    This table shows the importance ratings of the CTQs. These values are usually calculated by one of the prioritization methods, e.g. AHP. If a QFD 1 matrix has been added to the project, the values are calculated from the QFD 1 matrix by linear mapping. The chart at the left side of this table shows the values as bar graphs.

    Design Parameters
    This is the list of Design Parameters. It is a subset of the Design Elements list showing only the parameter level.

    Importance
    This table shows the importance ratings of the Design Parameters. The values here are calculated by linear mapping from the central matrix and the CTQ importance. Above this table you can see a chart presenting the values as bar graphs.

    QFD 3 Design Matrix / Design Parameters
    In this matrix, set a relation if a design parameter (column) has any effect on the CTQ (row). Use the Knowledge button on the Home ribbon to document the knowledge state of each relation you set

    Noise Factors
    This is the list of noise factors. It is also a subset of the Design Elements list.

    This is the importance table for noise factors. It is calculated like the importance table of the design parameters.
