Worksheets

Design Structure Matrix

Use this worksheet to edit and analyze self-references of lists, e.g. Functional Requirements or Design Elements.

en
  1. 1
    Items
This list contains the elements whose relationships to one another are to be considered. Usually this is the Functional Requirements list with functions and CTQs or the Design Elements list with design elements and design parameters. However, the module can also be linked to any other list.
  2. 2
    DSM
This matrix shows interrelations between list items. While filling out this matrix, ask the question: Will improving the item on the cause side support or prevent improving the item on the effect side?
  3. 3
    DSM Analysis
This table calculates active and passive sums of the relations in the central matrix.

CTQ Design Structure Matrix

If the module gets linked to the Functional Requirements list, this worksheet shows the auto-matrix of the list of CTQs - a subset of the Functional Requirements.

en
  1. 1
    CTQs
This list shows the critical to quality characteristics and is a filtered view on the list of Functional Requirements. Functions are listed only to help structuring the CTQs.
  2. 2
    DSM
This matrix shows interrelations beteween CTQs. While filling out this matrix, ask the question: Will improving the item on the cause side support or prevent improving the item on the effect side?
  3. 3
    DSM Analysis
This table calculates active and passive sums of the relations in the central matrix.
