Mind Map

Generic mind map
Qualica does not have an exact graphical representation of the Fishbone-Diagram. Instead it uses a classical Mind Map to collect the influences. The Mind Map offers a better integration into the QFD methodology and thus avoids redundancies.
After inserting the Mind Map template into your project, you can find a diagram with the VOC (Voice of the Customer) as root and some placeholder items. If you want to follow the Ishikawa method, rename the placeholders or create new items according to the 6M / 4MPE:
In order to rename an existing element, just click it and start typing. New items can be added by different means. At first you always have to select an existing item by clicking on it. The selected / focused item has a black frame around the box.
Using the keyboard:
- Insert a new item below the focus by pressing [Enter]
- Insert a new sub item by pressing [Shift]+[Enter]
Using the ribbon menu:
Select the Home ribbon
- Click New Requirement After to insert a new item after the focused item
- Click New Requirement to insert a new sub item
- Click New Function or New CTQ to create a relation to a VOC
The ribbon menu will always adapt to the selected item. Menu commands that belong to another tree, e.g. Functional Requirements, will insert new items into this tree and connect them to the selected item by adding a relation to the appropriate matrix. This way you can edit the full cascade of QFD matrices in one single mind map diagram.
