Function Analysis System Technique (FAST) diagram. Use the FAST to identify functions. This worksheet can also be used to create a Function Block diagram (FBD).

The FAST component provides a block diagram for editing the chain of functions from the WHY down to the HOW.

Use this diagram to create the chain of functions:

Drag functions from the Gallery Window into the diagram. Expand the Functions placeholder in the gallery in order to drag already existing functions into the diagram.
In order to connect two functions, move the mouse to an edge of a function box, then click the left button and drag to another function box
